This Privacy Policy explains how Linguistador LLC ("we", "us", or "our"), a company registered in the United States, collects, uses, and protects information when you use Phonetizer at phonetizer.com ("Service").

1. Information We Collect

  • Account data: Email address and securely hashed password when you register.
  • User content: Text you submit for transcription, generated transcription results, and your transcription history (if logged in).
  • Subscription data: Subscription status and related billing metadata. Payment processing is handled by Stripe. We do not store credit card details.
  • Analytics data: We use Google Analytics (GA4) to collect usage information such as pages visited, session duration, device type, and approximate location. This data may involve cookies or device identifiers and is used to understand how the Service is used.
  • Cookies and local storage: We use cookies and browser storage to maintain login sessions, remember preferences (such as colour scheme), and improve performance. If we later display advertisements, Google and other third-party vendors may also use cookies, as described in Advertising.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and operate the Service.
  • To manage your account and subscription.
  • To send transactional emails (password reset, subscription receipts, service notices).
  • To improve transcription accuracy and system performance.
  • To prevent fraud, abuse, and security issues.
  • If we later display advertisements, to serve and measure those ads.

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We may share information with:

  • Email service provider: We use an SMTP provider to send transactional emails.
  • Analytics provider: Google Analytics receives usage data to help us understand how the Service is used.
  • Advertising vendors: If we later display advertisements, Google and other third-party vendors may receive cookie identifiers and information about pages visited in order to serve and measure those ads. See Advertising.
  • Legal obligations: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights and users.

4. Data Retention

We retain account data and submitted text while your account is active and as necessary to provide the Service.

You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us at support@phonetizer.com.

Aggregated or anonymised analytics data may be retained for longer periods.

5. International Data Transfers

The Service is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, you acknowledge that your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States.

6. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption, hashed passwords, and access controls.

However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (including the European Union and similar regions), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data.

10. Advertising

The Service does not display advertisements today. We do not serve personalized advertisements, and we do not collect advertising consent. We do not sell your personal data to advertisers.

If we later display advertisements, we may use Google AdSense and other third-party vendors to serve them.

If advertisements are shown, third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites.

If those cookies are used, Google's advertising cookies would let Google and its partners serve ads based on visits to this site and other sites on the Internet. Ads served that way may be personalized.
