About these symbols
This keyboard covers the IPA symbols Phonetizer uses for British and American English transcription. It is accent-neutral: the same inventory types both accents. British-typical vowels such as ɒ and əʊ sit alongside American-typical ones such as ɾ and ɝ.
The Workbench inserts the engine forms (including the affricate ligatures ʧ / ʤ and ASCII stress ') when it transcribes. The palette also offers the familiar digraphs tʃ and dʒ as typing aliases.
